The holidays aren’t about toys of course, but toys certainly make the holidays a little brighter for many children in Santa Clara County. Join VTA and the US Marine Corps, at the Toys for Tots event and help stuff a VTA bus full of new toys for children in need.

Join us on Saturday, December 4, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. The bus will be parked on Market Street across from the Fairmont Hotel, so make sure you swing by for a family Christmas photo in front of the bus with some special helpers Santa is sending this year to help stuff the bus. Any guesses?

San Jose Earthquakes goalie J.T. Marcinkowski will be there from 10 to 11 a.m., encouraging your donations, taking photos, and giving autographs. SJ Sharkie will skate in at 10:30 a.m., bringing his wacky antics along with him, but don’t drag your feet; he’ll only be there for 30 minutes! Bring a toy and take a photo with your fave.

The goal is to fill as many buses as possible with new toy donations for Toys for Tots and transport them to the Marines’ warehouse, where toys will be sorted and distributed. How many buses will you help us fill?

Please donate new, unwrapped toys, books, and stocking stuffers (preferably avoiding plush toys due to sanitary reasons) for newborns to 14+ year-olds.

Simply drive up and drop off at the curb!
