VTA is proud to participate in United Against Hate Week, happening from September 21st to 27th, 2024! As a vital transportation hub in Santa Clara County, the safety of our employees and community remains a top priority. It’s up to each of us to ensure that our buses, trains, and community are safe spaces for all.

Hate crimes are criminal offenses that are acts of harm having to do with bias, hatred, or prejudice based or protected characteristics. Hate incidents are non-criminal acts that involve bias-motivated hostility.

This week is an important step in bridging divisions and strengthening our communities—and it’s time to talk about how to stand up to hate with your children, family and friends.  Check out our employee pledges all this week on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter/X, and LinkedIn.

Santa Clara County stands united against hate, featuring community activations throughout our County at www.UnitedAgainstHateWeek.org, featuring events during 9/21-9/27 in Sunnyvale, San Jose, Los Gatos, Santa Clara, and more.

“An attack against one of us is an attack against all of us — there is no place for hate in California,” said California Attorney General Rob Bonta. According to Bonta, many hate crimes and hate incidents go unreported, and his 2023 Hate Crime Report highlights the need to continue to efforts to combat hate.
