Note: This article has been updated to include the construction schedule.
Attention riders, beginning next weekend (Jan 24-26) you may notice occasional shutdowns along parts of the VTA light rail system over the next few months. Weekend bus bridges will provide temporary service during construction as VTA continues making great strides towards assuring our system remains safe, reliable, and moving at its intended speed.
In an effort to rehabilitate our aging infrastructure, VTA is repairing areas on the light rail tracks that have caused our service to run at a slower pace and locations where equipment has reached the end of its useful life. We have identified several locations for repairs and replacements.
