The US 101/Blossom Hill Road Interchange Improvement Project has made a lot of progress since construction started back on September 14, 2020. When driving through this area, folks may have already noticed the construction of a new bridge structure laid over US 101 between two existing Blossom Hill Road bridges that will accommodate one additional lane in each direction.

Drivers will also notice the retraining wall aesthetics along the lowered northbound on-ramp, where crews are currently working to install a grade-separated bicycle and pedestrian overcrossing path. The new corridor will provide a smooth and continuous route for bikes and pedestrians to safely cross over vehicles, connecting the existing Xander’s Crossing west of the freeway with the heavily traveled Coyote Creek Trail to the east.

US 101 southbound traffic off Blossom Hill is going to pass by crews currently working on the foundation site for the bike and pedestrian undercrossing structure that will travel under the southbound loop on-ramp toward the new overcrossing path.

Crews continue to work on retaining walls throughout the project site. Construction will continue through early 2023.
