In accordance with federal and state laws, VTA has prepared a Draft Relocation Plan to assist residential and non-residential property owners and occupants that may be impacted by any property acquisition in order to construct VTA’s BART Phase II Extension.
Outreach to property owners began in June to incorporate their feedback into the draft plan. Now, the public will have an opportunity to comment over a 30 day period starting today, August 17.
Four public forums are being held to present the Draft Relocation Plan and receive public comments:
September 6, 2018 at 5:30 p.m.
VTA Board Meeting at 55 W. Hedding Street, San Jose
September 11, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
San Jose City Hall Wing 118/119, 200 E Santa Clara St, San Jose
September 12, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
Mexican Heritage Plaza, 1700 Alum Rock Ave, San Jose
September 13, 2018 at 5:00 p.m.
Santa Clara University, Manresa Learning Center, 475 El Camino Real, Santa Clara
The Draft Relocation Plan is available for download on VTA’s BART Project website. Hard copies are also available at VTA offices, the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Berryessa libraries in San Jose, and the Central Park Library in Santa Clara.
If unable to attend one of the meetings, comments can be submitted via email to Community.Outreach@vta.org by September 17, 2018.
As with any major infrastructure or transportation project completed in an urban area, some relocations of residential and non-residential occupants are unavoidable. However, VTA is seeking to minimize the number of potential acquisitions as part of its planning efforts.
A proposed Final Relocation Plan will be prepared to respond to the public comments received and submitted to VTA’s Board of Directors for its review, consideration, and adoption at its December 6, 2018 meeting.
