On Thursday, April 16 at noon, VTA will join public transit agencies across the nation in a show of appreciation for transit workers who are on the front lines with so many other essential workers during this public health crisis.
VTA trains and buses in service will #SoundTheHorn, giving two, one-second horn blasts. This tribute to #HeroesMovingHeroes is a coordinated day of action to honor the hard-working and essential public transit employees who continue to move people during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The initiative was launched in New York City, as its Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), together with Amtrak, NJ TRANSIT, and other agencies came together to coordinate a day of action in appreciation of their transit workers.
Join the tribute to #HeroesMovingHeroes tomorrow at noon by posting audio and video during the #SoundTheHorn moment, while of course doing so safely.
