Local residents, business owners and commuters are encouraged to attend VTA’s upcoming virtual community meeting for the US 101/Zanker Road Improvement Project on Wednesday, October 20, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Learn about the project, ask questions, and provide comments on the scope and content of the environmental document.
The project focuses on a segment of US 101 between the SR 87 and I-880 interchanges to improve congestion, safety, connectivity to/from San Jose International Airport, and access for pedestrians and bicyclists.
Proposed upgrades include constructing a new overcrossing over Highway 101 to connect Zanker Road with Fourth Street and Skyport Drive, replacing non-standard ramps at Old Bayshore Highway and Brokaw Road with new ones at Bering Drive, and constructing new bicycle and pedestrian facilities. The current estimated project cost is $240 million, pending final determination of improvements.
