Who oversees safety and security at the Berryessa and Milpitas BART stations and transit centers?

BART Police is responsible for safety and security within the BART station gates, on the platforms, and in the trains. 

VTA contracts with the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office to maintain public safety and security outside the BART stations at the Milpitas and Berryessa Transit Centers. This contract is currently pending.

City streets in and around the transit centers are the responsibility of the police department in that city.

Although different areas of the transit centers are overseen by the three security groups, they work together to ensure safety. Group exercises were done in summer 2019 to prepare for various scenarios and will continue in the future.
