VTA in cooperation with the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), proposes to construct new soundwalls along I-680 between Capitol Expressway and Mueller Avenue in San Jose. The purpose of this project is to reduce noise by constructing soundwalls as an effective noise abatement measure. The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Construct new soundwalls along northbound I-680 between Capitol Expressway and Muirfield Drive
- Construct new soundwalls along northbound I-680 between Gebhart Avenue and Mueller Avenue
