The US-101 Mobility Action Plan (MAP) is a multi-county effort to develop programs and policies intended to maximize the benefits of planned infrastructure projects and address disproportionate impacts on low-income communities.
US-101 is a key piece of the transportation network connecting communities in San Francisco, the Peninsula, and the South Bay. US-101 is one of the most economically important corridors in California, as well as a near neighbor to more than 640,000 residents.
The US-101 MAP developed goals to focus actions around shared values of equitable access, reliability, prioritizing high-capacity mobility, and fostering safe and healthy communities.
Project goals:
- Offer reliable travel times for travelers
- Prioritize high-capacity mobility options for all, such as buses and carpools
- Foster healthy and sustainable communities
Key outcomes of MAP will include:
- A set of near-term policy changes or transportation demand management (TDM) programs that meet project goals
- A conversation in progress with public and private stakeholders along the corridor about how to solve our shared challenges
