Objectives
The purpose of this project is to improve traffic operations and facilities for modes of transportation including bicycle, pedestrian, and high occupancy vehicle uses at the US 101/SR 152/10th Street Interchange and along 10th Street in the City of Gilroy.
Project Features
The proposed improvements include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Widen the existing overcrossing bridge from two lanes to three traffic lanes
- Widen 10th Street to accommodate a new traffic lane in each direction
- Modify existing on-ramps and off-ramps as required; and
- Modify existing local street intersections and upgrade bicycle and pedestrian facilities along 10th Street.
Capital Cost/Project Funding
The project cost is estimated to be between $50 million and $60 million, depending on the final determination of improvements that are yet to be determined. The project is proposed to be funded using VTA 2016 Measure B and local funds.
